(Junior Scientist Competition)

Background History:

Homibhabha (Junior Scientist) Exam is organized by “The Mumbai Science Teacher’s Association”(MSTA).

“The Mumbai Science Teachers Association (MSTA) was established in 1981 with an objective to provide a platform for the science teachers to enrich and exchange their experiences and with an ultimate goal to widen the scope of science education amongst students.

Important Objectives of this Examination:

  • To Make the student well versed and aware of the scientific developments globally and as a result they contribute effectively to the scientific research and environment enhancement within the communities they live in.
  • To enable student’s and teachers to achieve their goals in terms of career, knowledge and overall development.
  • To spread vast knowledge of science education within school student’s which would be helpful for make their career objectives clearly in the field of science and Technology.
  • To contribute for the development of the nation especially in the field of science and technology by education student’s at the school level professionally.

Syllabus:

  • For 6th Std :- Textbooks of IV, V and VI std. of SSC Board Syllabus.
  • Related content from SSC Board’s IV, V and VI std. Which is included is CBSE & ICSE Board’s respective standards textbook.
  • Less emphasis will be given for knowledge based questions and more emphasis for understanding, reasoning, correlation etc.
  • The questions related to general knowledge in science will be based on the topics like current affairs of the last year and science around day to day life.
